About Peter Chen

Peter Chen Acupuncture BowralTrained in China, Peter has a Bachelor degree of traditional Chinese medicine and a Master degree of acupuncture. He was a qualified doctor in China for both Western medicine and Chinese medicine for 11 years. He is also a casual teacher for University of Western Sydney's master degree program.

Peter runs Eastcare Health Centre and has provided acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Tai Chi training in Bowral since 2005. He also gives dietary and exercise advice when needed. Located in the heart of Bowral and serves the Southern Highlands area, he also has lots of clients come from Camden, Goulburn and Sydney.

Based on 8 years diligent study (top scholarship and the honor of excellent graduate awarded by Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), 26 years successful clinical experience, 33 years consistent practice of Tai Chi, Peter helps to resolve problems effectively with a caring, comfortable and relaxing process. He has great clinical experience in working with different kinds of pain, headache, fatigue, insomnia, stress, anxiety or low moods, allergies, digestive disorders, menstrual or menopausal problems, healthy pregnancy and IVF support, weight gain, smoking addiction etc.


About Yanyan (Ellen) Mao

Graduated from Zhejiang Medical University in China. Yanyan had been a pediatrician for more than 10 years before she migrated to Australia. After another 4 years full time study in Western Sydney University and clinical training in Nanjing TCM Hospital in China, Yanyan was awarded ‘Bachelor of Health Science/Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine’ and is qualified to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Australia.

Based on the past many years successful medical study and practice, Yanyan has a great understanding of medicine and helps to resolve the problems in a caring and comfortable process. She has a particular interest in working with muscle and joints pain, stress, anxiety or low moods, menstrual or menopausal problems, healthy pregnancy and IVF support, and other General Health Complaints.  She also provides gentle massage or comfortable ear acupoint application therapy (put seeds on particular ear acupoints to resolve problems)  for those children who prefer not to use acupuncture needles.

Both Peter and Yanyan are qualified Members of Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association;Registered with Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (Peter's AHPRA No: CMR0001733155, Yanyan's AHPRA No: CMR0002115201);Accredited by All Major Health Funds.

The Clinic is open from Monday to Saturday (9am-6.30pm from Monday to Friday, 9am-1.30pm on Saturdays). Peter works on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Yanyan works on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We will put up a notice here if we are not available. The clinic is usually quite busy so please book an appointment a few days in advance. Sometimes we will not be able to answer your phone call. However, please leave a message and we will call back as soon as possible.
