Tai Chi 56 Form
with Peter Chen

The Chen style is the oldest parent form of the five main Tai Chi styles. It is the third in terms of worldwide popularity compared to the other main Tai Chi styles. The Chen style is characterized by its lower stances, more explicit Silk reeling (chan si jin) and bursts of power (fa jin).

The movements are well balanced between softness and hardness, fast and slow, relaxed and springing. It requires sudden changes that can be 'quiet as mountain' or 'forceful as thunderbolt'.

We held a Chen style class in 2006 (28 sessions) but it's not easy for beginners to learn. Another class will be held when there are enough advanced students interested in this particular style.
